Russell has led the Insurance Solutions team at M&G Investments since 2019. The team brings together investment and sales professionals, actuaries and regulatory experts, in order to create investment and ALM solutions which meet the complex requirements of our insurance clients around the world. From 2020 to 2023 Russell also led M&G’s re-entry into the UK Bulk Annuity market, with a dual reporting line into M&G Life. He developed the capital light strategy; hired and managed the Origination, Pricing and Execution teams; and originated the first three BPA transactions. Prior to joining M&G, Russell worked in the retirement division at Legal & General where he set up and led the Client Solutions team, and before that at Mercer, where he set up and led the Insurance Investment Consulting team.
He has a broad background in insurance and pension consulting, investing private capital, portfolio restructuring, corporate banking and quantitative finance. Russell holds a Doctorate from Queen’s University Belfast in Theoretical Physics.

Wenzhe joined Clearwater Analytics London office in 2022. He has more than a decade of experience in investment operations, accounting, and regulations through his experience at J.P. Morgan investment bank and GSI-backed life insurance firms. During this time, he was a working member and directly engaged with UK regulators on key regulatory initiatives, such as UK PRA’s Solvency II reform and Bank of England’s Transforming Data Collection programme.
Wenzhe is currently responsible for the UK and EU insurance market regulations, helping our clients navigate through the complex and evolving regulations in Europe.

Robert (Bob) is a Senior Policy Adviser in the Prudential Regulation Team at the Association of British Insurers (ABI). He has been with the ABI for eight years, during which time his focus has been on the evolution of the Solvency II capital framework, and the transition to the new Solvency UK regime.
Prior to joining the ABI, Bob worked in insurance supervision at the Financial Services Authority, and then at the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority. Before joining the financial services industry, he had a career in printing and publishing.
